August 2016 Events

Aug 6: Fall Day Trip: Balsam Glade Picnic Area near Sandia Peak. We will be meeting at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Balsam Glade Picnic Area.  It is located in the Sandia Mountains, near the Sandia Ski Area.
Activities at this event will include some of the activities that we did not complete at the Jack’s Creek Campground due to the rains the day we were there.  We will have a short hike, round robin activities, dinner, campfire and s’mores.
We are asking families to bring their own lunch, we will eat as a group before our hike.  The Pack will provide snacks in the afternoon for the boys.  Dinner that evening will be hamburgers and hotdogs provided by the Pack.  We do ask families to provide one of the following:  Macaroni salad, pasta salad, chips, beans, veggie tray or fruit tray.
We have also provided a link with directions to the picnic area.
Aug 20-21: New Mexico Outdoor Expo 2016: Fun for the entire family. Free events include catfish pond, firearm and archery (cannot be used for sports pins though), exhibits and more. Not an Pack event but definitely a worthwhile put on by the NM Dept of Game and Fish. NM Outdoor Expo 2016
